Private channels and private supergroups
Use a private channel when your main offer is publishing updates. Use a private supergroup when members should talk to each other. Memberalia automates entry and removal for either format while Telegram hosts the messages and content.
Start by reviewing existing invitations. A permanent link shared outside your paid flow can undermine the membership boundary. Retire unnecessary links and make the community private before you launch.
Connect Telegram in five steps
- Click Connect Telegram in Memberalia.
- Add @MemberaliaBot as an administrator of your private group or channel.
- Enable Invite Users and Ban Users permissions.
- Open the secure connection link, choose your community in Telegram and confirm the verified selection in Memberalia.
- Connect Stripe, select the community in your membership plan and publish.
Memberalia manages the shared bot. You only add it as an administrator. Review Telegram setup for the practical sequence.
Link the Telegram identity before payment
A member opens a short-lived bot deep link and starts the bot. Memberalia associates the numeric Telegram user ID with the checkout attempt. Usernames are not trusted identifiers because they can change.
After successful payment, the bot sends a temporary join-request link. Memberalia checks the requesting numeric identity against the active entitlement before approving entry. Forwarding the link does not transfer the payer’s entitlement to another person.
Invitations and removal have different jobs
An invitation helps a paying member join. It does not replace the entitlement record. When access expires, Memberalia removes the linked user from the protected chat where Telegram permits it. If that person buys a new membership later, valid access can unban them and issue a fresh invitation.
Keep the bot’s administrator permissions intact. An owner removing the bot or changing permissions can prevent access updates. The Communities page reports connection problems and lets you request synchronization after fixing them.
Offer several memberships without duplicating billing work
Create monthly, annual or one-time plans with clear benefits. For separate premium areas, connect the protected communities and map each plan to the appropriate access. Prices and Checkout sessions live on your Stripe account; members do not need a marketplace account.
What happens after payment?
Payment is only the beginning. Memberalia keeps a separate membership entitlement so temporary billing problems, scheduled cancellations and provider retries produce the right access decision.
| Event | Membership access |
|---|---|
| Confirmed payment | Access becomes active |
| Successful renewal | Access continues |
| Failed recurring payment | Three-day grace period begins |
| Payment recovered during grace | Membership returns to active |
| Grace expires unpaid | Access is revoked |
| Cancel at period end | Access remains until the paid period ends |
| Immediate cancellation | Access follows the updated billing entitlement |
Members use Stripe Customer Portal to update payment details or cancel. A cancellation scheduled for next month does not remove access today. Background reconciliation runs every six hours, and creators can request a synchronization from their workspace.
What does it cost?
Memberalia Starter costs €19/month for 100 active paid members and one community. Growth costs €39/month for 500 members and three communities. Pro costs €79/month for 2,500 members and ten communities. All include a 14-day trial and a 0% Memberalia platform transaction fee. Stripe processing fees apply separately.
Payments are created on your connected Stripe account. Memberalia does not hold your community revenue. Its own SaaS subscription is billed separately. Compare your expected cost using the fee calculator, then check plan limits.
Check the whole membership lifecycle before launch
Use a test customer to complete checkout, confirm the correct identity receives access, schedule a cancellation and check the paid-through date. Test failed-payment recovery too. If the provider is temporarily unavailable, the activity log should explain the error and synchronization should repair it after the underlying problem is resolved.
Keep a member support route visible. Payment automation cannot explain your community promise, moderate conversations or replace the value members subscribe for. Memberalia focuses on the payment-to-access handoff.
